Advice For Vendors
When Considering Selling
A treasured possession, complete house contents or a specialist collection, our experienced staff will be pleased to give you sound presale valuation advice at the Auction Rooms or, where appropriate, at your home, free of charge and without obligation.
Entering Items
Our Salerooms are open to receive goods on Saturday mornings 9.00am-12.00pm or alternatively by arrangement. The Salerooms do fill quickly and thus a prior phone call is advisable.
Our Collection Service
Provided by Paul Womack - an assistant whose integrity, care and courtesy is of the highest order.
The Collection service including travel time, loading and unloading is available at £40 per hour plus VAT for the vehicle and two men.
Charges to VendorsEntry fee:
£1.50 per lot (sold or unsold.)Selling commission per lot:
- 10% on the first £500.
- 5% thereafter
Insurance:
Charge of 1.5% of value against loss or damage to point of sale.All charges subject to VAT.
Prompt Payment
Prompt Payment is made by cheque posted on the evening of sale with detailed sale results of each lot entered. For consignments divided between different sales payment follows sale of the total consignment.
Due Diligence Policy
In support of COPAT and the Norfolk Constabulary the Diss Auction Rooms operate a Due Diligence Policy to help prevent the sale of stolen goods through auction and thus hopefully deter initial theft. We ask vendors to sign a declaration of ownership and we make payment by cheque to their home address.
